IMX Unites IMCJ, LIAK, SIMCA & A2IM For APAC AI-Ready Music Monetization Summit
IMX joins Japan's IMCJ, Korea's LIAK, South India's SIMCA, and the U.S.'s A2IM for a landmark virtual summit uniting Asia-Pacific labels, publishers, and technology leaders around practical AI licensing and monetization standards.
As generative audio models rapidly expand across commercial music creation, gaming, interactive entertainment, and enterprise software, IMX and four leading regional trade associations are convening the region's music industry for a decisive conversation on AI monetization. The APAC AI-Ready Music Monetization Summit broadcasts live this Friday, September 4, 2026, bringing together major Asian record labels, publishers, collective management organizations, and global rights holders for three targeted panel sessions.
The summit is co-organized by the Independent Music Coalition Japan (IMCJ), the Recording Industry Association of Korea (LIAK), the South Indian Music Companies Association (SIMCA), the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), and IMX. Rather than another panel-heavy conference, this is designed as a solutions-oriented forum with one collective mission: establish sustainable commercial deal frameworks, machine-readable licensing rails, and verifiable usage telemetry that protect creative equity while growing the overall monetization market.
From audio intelligence to commercial clearance, this opening session tackles AI-driven audio tagging and similarity search, master (ISRC) versus publishing (ISWC) split harmonization, and how to structure next-generation sync and AI licensing deals that protect creator equity. Moderated by Tomishi Kato (Daflow / IMX), with panelists Takayuki Oki (Nippon Columbia), Luke McQueen (Velvetjam), and Mike Odabashian (AIMS API).
Regional trade leadership from Korea, South India, and the United States unites to champion the distinct cultural and artistic premium of Asian repertoire, defend artist brand sovereignty and fan trust, and build trans-Pacific commercial alliances that ensure independent creators are fairly rewarded in global AI models. Moderated by Tinko Georgiev (CRXAI), with panelists Marty Ro (LIAK / Sound Republica), Sridhar J Swaminathan (SIMCA), and Ian Harrison (A2IM).
Closing the summit, this session confronts the "black box" problem head-on through verifiable usage telemetry, machine-readable rights administration (ALLOW / CONDITIONAL / DENY protocols), and seamless integration with collective societies and distribution platforms. Moderated by Tomishi Kato, with panelists Akira Nomoto (Rightsscale), Jenn Anderson-Miller (Audiosocket), and Tinko Georgiev (CRXAI).
With the Asia-Pacific market positioned to define the terms of AI-era music monetization, this summit marks a rare moment of aligned trade leadership across Japan, Korea, South India, and the United States — and a template other regions may soon look to follow. Complimentary registration is open now to record label executives, music publishers, artists and managers, collection societies, entertainment attorneys, and generative AI developers.
