Terms of Use & Privacy Policy
These terms govern your access to and use of the IMX Networking Portal specifically, and explain how we collect, use, and protect your information as a Delegate using it. They are additional to, and don't replace, the terms that govern your ticket purchase, the website's and, more generally, other terms provided by IMX to you where relevant.
Terms of Use
Last updated September 16, 2026These Terms of Use and Privacy Policy ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the IMX Networking Portal (the "Portal"), a feature of the IMX event website operated by See Music (Hong Kong) International Limited, registered at 160 Harbin Road, Hongkou, Shanghai, China ("IMX", "we", "us", "our"). By ticking the acceptance box presented to you, or by accessing or using the Portal, you ("you", "your", or "Delegate") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Portal on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and "you" includes that organisation. These Terms are additional to, and do not replace, the terms that govern your ticket purchase generally.
1. Eligibility
By using the Portal, you represent that you are at least eighteen (18) years old, are attending IMX in a professional or business capacity (on your own behalf or on behalf of an organisation), hold a valid, current IMX event pass, and have not previously been removed from the Portal or banned from an IMX event. You further represent that you are not located in, and are not a national or resident of, any country or region subject to comprehensive trade sanctions, and are not otherwise listed on any restricted-party or denied-persons list, in each case under applicable law. If any of this stops being true, including if your pass lapses, is refunded, or is cancelled, your right to use the Portal ends immediately, whether or not IMX has taken any action to that effect. IMX may require you to verify your eligibility at any time and may suspend your access pending that verification. Providing false information relevant to your eligibility is a material breach of these Terms.
2. Your Profile
2.1 Accuracy
You are responsible for the accuracy of everything on your profile, whether it came from your ticket purchase or you entered it yourself. Your name, email, organisation, region, and job title are taken from your order and locked within the Portal for that reason; if one of these is wrong, the error traces back to what was submitted at checkout, and IMX will correct it only where a genuine mistake is shown, not as a general editing service. IMX may ask for evidence of the error, such as your order confirmation, before making a change. Everything you enter directly, bio, photo, goals, tags, website, and contact details, must be accurate, current, and not misleading, and keeping it that way is your responsibility, not IMX's. IMX is not responsible for any loss or damage caused to you or another Delegate as a result of inaccurate or incomplete profile information. IMX may suspend or remove a profile that appears fraudulent, impersonates another person, or otherwise breaches these Terms, pending investigation.
2.2 Your Settings
You control who can find you, contact you, and see your information through the Portal's directory, visibility, and messaging settings, and you bear the consequences of how you set them. Once something has reached another Delegate, whether shown on your profile or sent in a message, IMX has no obligation or ability to retract it. Changing a setting afterward stops future disclosure; it does not undo what's already happened. IMX may override or reset any of your settings where necessary to enforce these Terms, comply with law, or protect the security or integrity of the Portal.
2.3 Availability Information
Any availability you provide, whether set directly or described in your own words for the Portal to interpret, is your own representation of when you're free to meet. IMX is not responsible for a missed, mismatched, or double-booked meeting caused by availability information you supplied being incomplete or wrong.
3. Pass-Based Access
Your ability to connect, message, or book a meeting with another Delegate in a given city is a benefit of your pass for that city, not a right that exists independently of it. You may still appear as a suggested match to Delegates in cities you haven't purchased, and see others suggested to you the same way; this creates no obligation on IMX to grant interaction there; a pass covering that city is required to act on it.
If your pass is refunded, cancelled, or otherwise ceases to be valid, we may withdraw your networking access for that city at any time and without notice, and IMX is not liable for any resulting loss of access. This does not affect connections, messages, or meetings you already made before access was withdrawn.
IMX has sole discretion to determine which pass types unlock which features and cities, and may change that mapping at any time without liability to you.
4. Connecting & Messaging
A connection exists only once both Delegates agree to it, sending a request does not obligate the other Delegate to accept, and creates no relationship or right on your part until they do. Messaging is one-to-one only, between the two Delegates in a given conversation.
Everything you send is also subject to the Acceptable Use standards in Section 5, which apply across the Portal.
IMX is not a party to, and has no responsibility for, any agreement, arrangement, or dispute that arises between you and another Delegate. Whatever happens as a result of a connection, message, or meeting made through the Portal, including any business deal, dispute, or disagreement, is between you and that Delegate, not IMX.
Archiving a conversation removes it from your own view only; it does not delete it, and the other Delegate keeps full access to everything already sent. Once a message is sent, it is out of our and your control: archiving it, or anything else you do on your side, does not withdraw or hide it from the other Delegate.
IMX does not routinely monitor messages, but may access, review, or preserve message content where necessary to investigate a suspected breach of these Terms, respond to a report, comply with law, or protect the rights or safety of IMX or another Delegate.
5. Acceptable Use
This section applies to everything you put into the Portal: your profile, your messages, meeting details, and anything else you add during the course of you operating the Portal.
You must not use the Portal to harass or impersonate another Delegate, or to send unsolicited commercial pitches unrelated to the professional purpose you and they are using it for. You must not extract, scrape, or compile other Delegates' profiles, contact details, or messages for use outside the Portal. You must not sell, rent, or otherwise commercialise your own access to the Portal, or any information you obtain through it. You must not use automated means whether, without limitation, bots, scripts, or bulk actions, to send connection requests or messages, or otherwise use the Portal at a scale inconsistent with ordinary one-to-one professional networking. Any photo you upload must be of yourself, must not infringe anyone's rights, and must be appropriate for a professional context. You must not copy, reverse-engineer, or attempt to derive the Portal's underlying code, matching logic, or AI prompts and outputs. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive: you must not otherwise use the Portal in a way that is unlawful or harmful to IMX, another Delegate, or a third party.
IMX does not review content before it's posted or sent. IMX may remove, disable access to, or delete content that violates this section. A breach of this section is addressed after the fact, on a report or on IMX's own initiative, and can result in suspension or termination of your Portal access under Section 9, on top of any other remedy available to IMX.
6. Meetings
Proposing, accepting, declining, or rescheduling a meeting is an arrangement between you and the other Delegate. IMX facilitates the scheduling but is not a party to it, does not guarantee the other Delegate will attend, and is not liable for a missed, cancelled, or unsatisfactory meeting. Anything you write into a meeting's location or notes is subject to Section 5, and you are responsible for what you disclose there.
IMX does not conduct background checks or otherwise vet Delegates beyond confirming they hold a valid pass, and does not verify any Delegate's business claims, authority to contract, or creditworthiness. You are responsible for exercising your own judgement when meeting another Delegate, including meeting in an appropriate public or event venue, and you do so entirely at your own risk.
7. AI-Assisted Features
The Portal uses AI to suggest matches and generate a rationale and icebreaker for each one, classify your goals into tags, interpret availability you describe in your own words, translate messages, and draft introductory messages you can edit before sending. How this works with your data is set out in Section 18. IMX may modify, suspend, or discontinue any AI-assisted feature, or change the AI provider it uses, at any time without further notice to you.
AI-generated content is a machine-generated suggestion, not a statement made by the Delegate it describes, and it may be inaccurate. Don't treat a match score, rationale, icebreaker, translation, or drafted message as verified or endorsed by the Delegate it concerns unless they've sent it to you themselves. IMX is not liable for any decision you make, or action you take, based on AI-generated content, including who you choose to engage with or what you say to them.
8. Intellectual Property
The Portal, including its software, matching logic, and AI-generated outputs, belongs to IMX and/or its licensors. Using the Portal gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it for professional networking at IMX events. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by IMX and its licensors. You keep ownership of what you post (your bio, photo, messages, and similar), but you grant IMX a licence to host, store, and display it as needed to run the Portal, including showing it to other Delegates as intended. If you give IMX feedback or suggestions about the Portal, IMX may use them without restriction or any obligation to you.
9. Term & Termination
These Terms apply for as long as you use the Portal. IMX may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice and without needing to give a reason, including where you breach these Terms or your pass is refunded, cancelled, or expires. You may stop using the Portal at any time; doing so does not entitle you to any refund, which is governed separately by the terms of your ticket purchase. Termination ends your right to use the Portal; it doesn't undo anything that already happened. Sections 5, 8, 10, 11, and 12, and any other provision that by its nature should survive, remain in effect after termination, including your responsibility for content you already posted or sent, and your indemnity under Section 10.
10. Liability and Indemnification
The Portal is an additional feature offered alongside your event pass, provided as-is. You acknowledge that IMX makes the Portal available on this basis only because of the limitations in this section, which reflect a reasonable allocation of risk for a complimentary feature. To the fullest extent the law allows, and whether the claim is based in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, IMX is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Portal, including loss connected to a connection, message, meeting, or business dealing with another Delegate, or to AI-generated content. IMX does not guarantee the Portal will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, including during an event. Nothing in this section excludes liability that can't lawfully be excluded.
You agree to indemnify IMX, its officers, employees, and agents, at your own expense, against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your conduct on the Portal. IMX may assume control of the defence of any claim subject to this indemnity, in which case you agree to cooperate with that defence.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Portal is to be resolved by arbitration administered by the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC), under its rules in effect at the time, and the resulting award is final and binding on both parties. Nothing in this section stops either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent ongoing or irreparable harm, pending resolution through arbitration.
12. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. IMX's failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. IMX is not liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including outages of third-party services the Portal relies on. IMX may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; you may not assign them. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and IMX regarding the Portal.
These Terms are in English. Any translation provided is for convenience only, and the English version controls in the event of any conflict. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between you and IMX, and these Terms do not give any third party a right to enforce them. IMX may give you notice under these Terms by email to the address associated with your ticket, or by posting a notice in the Portal.
13. Changes to These Terms
IMX may update these Terms from time to time, in its sole discretion. The version in force is the one posted with the most recent "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you, such as by email or a notice in the Portal, before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Portal after a change takes effect means you accept it; if you don't agree with a change, you should stop using the Portal.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms, requests to correct locked profile information, or privacy-related requests (including deletion) can be sent to info@imxgo.com.
Privacy Policy
Last updated September 16, 202615. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information in connection with your use of the Portal:
(i) Ticket-derived information: your name, email, organisation, region, and job title, taken from your event pass purchase.
(ii) Profile information you provide: your bio, company overview, website, phone number, photo, areas of expertise, what you're looking for, and your availability.
(iii) Directory and matching information: AI-generated match scores and the rationale and icebreaker text generated about you for other Delegates.
(iv) Connections: who you've sent or received connection requests with, and their status.
(v) Messages: the full content of your conversations, including any translated copies.
(vi) Meetings: proposed, accepted, and cancelled meeting details, including time, location, and notes.
(vii) Settings: your privacy, visibility, and notification preferences.
(viii) Technical information: we and our service providers automatically collect limited technical data needed to operate the Portal, such as your session identifier (used solely to authenticate you against your ticket purchase), IP address, browser and device type, and access times. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-site tracking.
This list is not necessarily exhaustive. If we start collecting an additional category of information in connection with the Portal, this Policy will be updated in line with Section 24.
16. How We Use Your Information
By using the Portal, you consent to our processing of your information as described in this Policy. We use your information to:
(i) operate the Portal, including the directory, matching, messaging, and meeting-scheduling features described in these Terms, and to combine information from your ticket purchase with information you provide directly to build and display your profile;
(ii) send you the email notifications you've opted into;
(iii) market future IMX events to you, unless you unsubscribe using the link in those emails or notify us at info@imxgo.com;
(iv) maintain, improve, and develop the Portal and IMX's other services, including through aggregated or de-identified analysis of how the Portal is used;
(v) detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of these Terms;
(vi) enforce these Terms, establish or defend legal claims, and respond to a request from a court, regulator, law enforcement, or other government authority; and
(vii) carry out a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of some or all of IMX's assets, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
17. Disclosure of Your Information
We disclose your information in the following circumstances:
(i) To other Delegates, in line with the visibility and contact settings described in Section 2.2 of these Terms: this is the core purpose of the Portal, and isn't a disclosure you can opt out of while continuing to use it.
(ii) To service providers who help us run the Portal, including, without limitation, Cloudflare, a third-party email provider, DeepSeek (see Section 18), and WordPress. These providers may use your information only to provide services to IMX.
(iii) To a court, regulator, law enforcement, or other government authority, where we're required or permitted to do so by law, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of IMX, a Delegate, or the public.
(iv) To our professional advisors where necessary for their engagement.
(v) In connection with a corporate transaction described in Section 16.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
18. AI Processing
The AI-assisted features in Section 7 are powered by DeepSeek, a third-party AI provider based in the People's Republic of China. Using one of these features sends the relevant data, which may include your profile, goals, and message content, to DeepSeek, which processes it under its own published policies. IMX does not control, and makes no representation about, how DeepSeek retains or otherwise uses that data beyond what DeepSeek discloses itself. IMX is not liable for DeepSeek's acts, omissions, or handling of your information, and Section 10 of these Terms applies to any claim arising from your use of an AI-assisted feature.
19. International Data Transfers
IMX and its service providers operate in multiple countries, and your information may be stored or processed outside the country where you live, including in the People's Republic of China, as a matter of course, not only when you use an AI-assisted feature. By using the Portal, you understand and accept that your information will be transferred to, and processed in, countries that may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
20. Data Retention
We keep your profile, connections, and related Portal activity for as long as you keep attending IMX events, and for twenty-four (24) months after your last one if you don't purchase another pass, after that, we delete or anonymise it. Messages and meetings are kept for twelve (12) months after the last activity in that conversation or meeting. AI-generated match scores, rationale, and icebreakers are not retained beyond the short caching period needed to generate them.
Your name, email, organisation, region, and job title are tied to your ticket record and follow the retention period that applies to that record, not the periods above, since the Portal does not collect this information independently.
We keep a backup copy of Portal content in WordPress. We make reasonable efforts to delete that backup copy in line with the periods above, but because it operates as a separate system, deletion there is not guaranteed to happen at the same time.
We may retain information for longer than stated above where necessary to comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, enforce these Terms, or protect against a legal claim.
21. Your Rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data, or to stop using it for marketing, by writing to info@imxgo.com. We handle these requests manually and aim to respond within 30 days.
Before acting on a request, we may ask you to verify your identity, and we may decline a request we cannot verify.
We may decline or limit a request where permitted by law; for example, where it is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or where fulfilling it would adversely affect another Delegate's own rights to the same information, such as their copy of a conversation you were part of. Deleting your profile does not delete a message or meeting record from the other Delegate's side of that conversation.
Deleting your data does not necessarily extend to information we are required to keep for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes, as described in Section 20.
If we delete your profile, you will no longer be able to use the Portal.
If your jurisdiction gives you the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, nothing in this Policy limits that right.
22. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee that your information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorisation, including as a result of circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Except as required by applicable law, IMX is not liable for any unauthorised access to, or loss of, your information, and Section 10 of these Terms applies to any claim arising from a security incident.
You are responsible for the security of your own device and session, and for any activity on your account resulting from your failure to keep them secure. If you believe your account or session has been compromised, contact info@imxgo.com immediately.
Where the law requires us to notify you of a security incident affecting your information, we will do so in accordance with that law.
23. Age
The Portal is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under eighteen (18); see Section 1. We do not independently verify age beyond the representation you make under Section 1. If we become aware that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
24. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, in our sole discretion, the same way we update the Terms of Use; see Section 13. The version in force is the one with the most recent "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continuing to use the Portal after a revised Policy takes effect means you accept it; if you don't agree with a change, you should stop using the Portal.
